Looking Back, Looking Forward

January 2024

Now that it’s 2024, we want to take a moment to look back at how far we have come as a party since 2022. If you recall, in the months leading up to our 2022 Seward County Republican party convention, a record number of Seward County citizens united and signed up to be delegates. Many had no idea what it meant to be a delegate at that time but wanted to become involved in county and state politics.

From that night forward, we were able to re-establish the Republican Party within Seward County. With conviction in our hearts and a spirit of determination, we forged onward.

In the past two years, we:

  • elected a full slate of delegates to represent our county at the State Convention.

  • created and amended our Seward County Republican Constitution.

  • created committees to manage and provide involvement opportunities with our county party.

  • held regular meetings to establish a presence in the communities across the county.

  • invited speakers and state senators to share their knowledge and inspiration.

  • provided meet-and-greet events for the public to meet political candidates.

  • had volunteers from our party learn how to use our canvassing app and actively knock on doors to campaign for local candidates.

  • alerted and informed our members about legislation so they could submit testimony online or go to the capitol to testify in person.

  • successfully organized our first annual fundraising gala.

  • We even had a float in the Seward 4th of July parade!

In addition to these highlights, it is also noteworthy that a close working relationship with the State Party was developed, and our officers answered the call to help other counties get their local parties up and running! Seward County Republicans are actively engaged with the statewide Republican Party, including open communication with party leaders all across Nebraska. These unifying connections help strengthen both our county and state parties.

So much growth has occurred in such a short time! While the last two years were spent learning the system and how to make the system better, now we can implement what we have learned to make an even greater impact within Seward County and Nebraska politics!

2024 promises to be ‘a year to remember’, and we look forward to the opportunities where we can engage in creating positive memories together!
