Nebraska Republican Party Elects State Delegates to the National Convention

The Nebraska Republican Party held its State Convention on May 18, 2024, at the Marriott Cornhusker Hotel and Conference Center.  The state convention is held biannually after the completion of the county conventions. The event was attended by over 600 people including delegates, alternate delegates, and guests from a record 82 counties that held conventions.

The Convention Delegates were tasked with electing national delegates to the Republican National Convention to be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this July.  A combined total of 66 delegates and alternates were elected.  Danna Seevers of Seward (At-Large Delegate), Angie Eberspacher of Beaver Crossing (At-Large Delegate), Ann Underwood of Seward (At-Large Alternate) and Mary Hamilton of Beaver Crossing (At-Large Alternate) were 4 of the 66 elected to represent Nebraska. They will travel to Wisconsin in July to nominate Donald J. Trump for President of the United States of America.

To ensure the convention runs smoothly and achieves its objectives, several committees are established. Each committee has specific responsibilities that contribute to the overall success of the convention. One man and one woman from each state are elected to serve on each of the five Convention Committees. Danna Seevers was elected to represent Nebraska on the Credentialing Committee and Angie Eberspacher was elected to the Committee on Permanent Organization.

The body also elected Committeemen and Committeewomen to represent their local subdistricts on the NEGOP State Central Committee.  In sub-district 105 (representing Seward, Polk and Butler Counties), local area Delegates re-elected Butler County Chairman, David McPhillips, as Committeeman, Angie Eberspacher, Vice-Chair of Seward County GOP, as Committeewoman, and Seward GOP Chair, Danna Seevers, as District Chair Representative.

State Convention Delegates also elected William Feely of Aurora as the new National Committeeman and re-elected Fanchon Blythe of Lincoln as the National Committeewoman.
